Victorian Certificate of Education
At Sandringham College students undertaking an academic program are expected to enrol in six subjects for Years 10 and 11 and five for Year 12.
Year 10 Program
The Year 10 program is primarily an elective based program with compulsory studies in English and Mathematics (whole year) and Science and Physical Education (half year each). All remaining subjects are studied for a semester each giving students 8 elective choices across the year.
Year 10 students may also choose to study a VCE subject and/or a school-based VET subject. Any VCE subjects completed during Year 10 contribute to the units required to gain the VCE certificate.
Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)
The VCE is a nationally and internationally recognised certificate that provides pathways to university, TAFE or employment. Students have to include at least one English subject and can include any number of VET subjects, though the College recommends a maximum of two.
